Position Summary:
The LPN Training Specialist is responsible for educating and instructing new and existing nurses to ensure consistency and capability to follow all governing rules and regulations. The LPN Specialist will work closely with the Nursing, Quality and Compliance leadership. This role involves a combination of clinical expertise, teaching skills, and organizational abilities.
Essential Job Duties:
Provides initial and ongoing training designed to maintain compliance and establish best practices. The LPN Training Specialist executes comprehensive training plans designed to maintain skills specific to the BrightView standard of care through hands on demonstration and continued mentorship. Training areas include, but are not limited to:
Medication Management/Administration
Opiate/Narcotic Treatment Program
Inductions/Withdrawal Management/OBOT
Documentation/Medical Record Charting
MethodOne
CareLogic
Patient Care Activities
Medication Review
Mental Status Screen
Crisis Interventions
Care Coordination
Individualized Nursing visits
Medication Compliance Reviews (pill counts)
Offsite Nursing Induction Follow-up Telephone calls
Narcan/Hepatitis/STD/Medication Education
Clinical Skills (Glucometer, Injection Administration)
Compliance
Medication inventories and daily reconciliation
DEA Binder
Required Education/Degree: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with relevant state(s) Medication Administration certificate.
Required Certification/License: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Required Work Experience: A minimum of two years nursing experience is preferred, ideally with BrightView Health.
