Position Summary:

Brightview is (We are) a narcotic treatment center that is looking for a fully engaged pharmacist to be the pharmacist in charge (PIC). The pharmacist in charge will be responsible for the oversight and compliance of the opioid treatment pharmacy, including personnel. This position will also consist of dispensing, administration, and verification of MAT (medication-assisted treatment).


Essential Job Duties:

  • Prepare and verify medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities and ensuring safety and accuracy.

  • Ensure legal operations of the pharmacy, making sure to meet the requirements of all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Maintain proper record keeping and documentation that is accurate and readily retrievable for regulating agencies.

  • Accurately maintain patient profiles

  • Documentation of all incidents, internal and external, and following up with appropriate corrective action.

  • Properly manage inventories, including orders, returns, destructions, correct on hand supply, annual inventories and accurate record keeping. Inventory will be accounted for and reconciled daily.

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly internal audits for compliance.

  • Assist and participate in audits and investigations with the Board of Pharmacy, DEA and other regulatory agencies that oversee the OTP pharmacy.

  • Ensure all pharmacy staff maintains current licensure according to state laws.

  • Prioritizes attendance and is consistently on time and present for scheduled shifts. Occasionally asked to assist and help cover shifts during emergency situations.

  • Attend treatment teams and collaborate with medical, clinical, and operational staff.

  • Able to work independently with little direct supervision. Commonly will have to assess, problem solve and determine the best course of action.

  • Maintains current working knowledge of substance abuse disorders and treatment.

  • Familiar with withdrawal management and signs of overdose, taking appropriate action according to company protocol.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment in the pharmacy.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Required Education/Degree:

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
