Revenue Cycle (RC) supervisor oversees the Revenue Cycle Specialist and works closely with Leadership on all revenue-related activities. Key responsibilities will be (1) Overseeing Revenue Cycle Team by supervising processes, productivity and financial results for the area(s) assigned including key aspects of financial counseling, insurance verification, and prior authorization; (2) Ensuring accurate and timely follow-up of staff workflows; (3) Providing feedback, training, and guidance to ensure RCM staff is following department protocol with RCM processes; (4) Managing performance, time and attendance of RCM staff; (5) Handling escalated issues or more complex projects while working closely with manager and RCM Leadership to develop RCM process improvements.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensures high-quality service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
  • Manages overall Financial Counseling, Insurance Verification, and Prior Authorization staff and activity in accordance with current applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Supervises and monitors follow-up activities ensuring optimal performance to meet finance/operational annual and monthly goals.  
  • Collaborates with RCM Leadership to develop the strategic plan for the department, including assisting with the preparation of the operational metrics and analytics.
  • Develops and maintains all policies pertaining to insurance and patient billing and collection practices.
  • Manages the training, supervision, and performance evaluations of assigned associates.
  • Ensures systems and controls are in place as outlined in policy and procedure manuals. Meets established daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Maintains knowledge of third-party payer regulations including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Tricare, and commercial payers and self-pay.
  • Works with the Revenue Cycle team to monitor and Edit Error Management.
  • Monitors and maintains project plans, documenting and following up on actions and decisions.
  • Prepares project materials and provides administrative support as needed.
  • Develops strategies to ensure an effective and efficient execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Trains and develops team members to ensure Brightview policy and protocol is being followed.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Work Experience: Four (4) years’ previous experience in Revenue Cycle or in a related healthcare administrative leadership position with progressive responsibilities. Demonstrated supervisory and/or managerial experience preferred.
